THE SETTING UP OF THE UNIT

November 1^st 1991 in accordancewith the Government Decision 0696 from October 9^th 1991. At that time the unit had in its structures two joint companiei, two mobile companiei, a school company of graduates, battalion subunits.

Commander: Captain Roman Ioan was appointed at the battalion`s commandment

Tasks: For a long time the unit wae organized and functioned according to the orders and instructions received from upper echelons, its operation was an objective necessity to ensure, maintain and restablish pulic order, protect the citizen`s basic rights and liberties, the public and private property, prevent and fight antisocial facts, protect the state institutions and bring its contribution against terrorism actions

Law: In accordance with the provisions made by the law 116/1996 which concern the organization and functioning of the Romanian Gendarmerie and based on the organizational table approved by the Order of Minister I /0550 in July 1^st 2003, the following tasks were clearly detailed to the Gendarmerie Commandment of Harghita County:
